The older generation of knarly, twisted, leaning tangles of Buttonwoods and Mangroves hold themselves to the shore and the shore to the land. At water's edge, the long brown and green seed pods of the Red mangrove have floated up to the shore and taken root in the sandy sediment. The best few among them will rise to the task the older ones now perform.
