Chrysobalanus icaco 'Green Tip' : Green cocoplum

This Cocoplum has broad almond shaped leaves and no red coloring on the new growth

When the abundant fruit turns a rosy color, it is ready to be cooked into a delicious mahogany colored jam.

Never cut back in ten years, this Green Cocoplum is now about 12ft tall and 18ft in diameter.

Here the path to the beach goes through a Cocoplum tunnel.

The inland cultivar with red tips of new growth and small black olive-shaped fruit is not native to the coast
