The product of thousands of hours of work by volunteers over the past 15 years, the grounds around the Anna Maria City Hall and Island Players have undergone a transformation from fields of mown weeds and wedelia to a veritable museum containing over 80% of the species in a Maritime Forest community of plants. As the earliest plantings are now reaching maturity, images of a natural barrier island landscape of this region are beginning to appear. To see the rewards of our patience and persaverance:
First take a look at the HISTORY page to see this place before we started.
Then go to the PHOTO MAP page for a full-size photo tour of the grounds today.
