Sophora tomentosavar. truncata : Necklacepod

A young Necklacepod in the Pier Park on the north end of Anna Maria, highly drought and salt tolerant.

Here is a pair of mature plants along the path through a dune field.

Necklacepod puts out long curvy stems of bright yellow blooms multiple times during the year.

They are followed by the signature necklace-like berries.

A native 'green' Necklacepod has shiny green leaves unlike the greyish hairy leaves of this non-native one.
